SEMINARS
AND WORKSHOPS
Novetus and its partners, organises meetings and seminars to bring together different specialists in all fields related to the preservation of historical and cultural heritage. Our aim is to create a lively artistic venue in the school of Relyovo, the headquarter of the Foundation.

Each year, we will be planning several educational and cultural events such as open lectures and specialised workshops. Novetus will focus on the topics of cultural heritage, landscape art, wood construction, new ecological building systems, permaculture principles, renewable energy but also philosophy and sociology with regards to the conservation of historical buildings.

The school will also host contemporary art and dance performances, experimental theatre, exhibitions, book and movie presentations and other artistic and cultural events.

novetus educational program
EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM
All this can only be achieved through practical training, which Novetus wishes to organise within a specialised academy. Members of the Relyovo school will also have privileged access to contemporary artists, designers and architects on the international scene, and will be trained to meet the contextual and codified requirements and aesthetic trends of our time.

Once the restoration of the Relyovo school is complete, a call for entries will be issued to new graduates of these institutions. Selection will be based on a portfolio, a drawing exam and an interview. The training program will include courses in the main subjects of heritage conservation and monumental decoration. The course will consist of a weekly program as follows: two days of lectures and three days of practical work. The programme will last seven months and will culminate in a final examination. All those who pass the exam will have the opportunity to continue their training for a further year, after which the studio will hire the best graduates.
Novetus foundation aims to support anyone wishing to train or improve their craft skills by offering practical training opportunities and participation in projects around the world. Our mission is to maintain high standards and offer career opportunities for people wishing to develop in the world of craftmanship and cultural heritage.

Our main activity is centred around the Relyovo school, where training courses in craft techniques are organised. The Relyovo modern bottega project draws on Bulgaria's unique advantage of a network of twenty-three arts and crafts schools, supported by the Ministry of Culture and with over two hundred graduates each year.

The project aims to encourage these graduates to work as part of a team on restoration and decoration projects in Europe and around the world, by refining and developing their skills in classical painting, sculpture, marble imitation, gilding, carpentry and so on.

STUDIO
The company of Novetus founder, Boris Delchev, called Vrai-Faux Design Ltd, is recommended by the Michelangelo Foundation and has its own page in the Homo Faber guide to excellent crafts. Vrai-Faux Design has been selected in France by the Center for national monuments to restore all the 18th-century wallpaper in the Hôtel de la Marine in Paris. The wallpapers created by the studio were then chosen to form part of the collection of the Museum of decorative arts in Paris.

Other works and projects have been published in numerous magazines: Architectural Digest, Elle, World of Interiors, Brava Casa and many others.
With Novetus, the studio of Vrai Faux design will be able to grow, create job opportunities and share the knowledge and experience gathered over the years.

The studio, currently located in Sofia is fully equipped to work on ceilings, ceramics, printing, construction, woodcarving, etc. Part of the studio will be implemented in the Relyovo bottega to allow the realization of very large productions.

novetus team building
TEAM BUILDING
AND TEAM MANAGEMENT
Today, the artistic skills needed to preserve our heritage have become rare, and excellence in this field is immediately associated with unaffordable luxury. Bringing together a team of multi-skilled craftsmen and restorers is always a challenge. It means sourcing a wide range of professionals, from physical workers for heavy construction, carpentry and plastering to more detailed activities such as marquetry, restoring paintings, furniture, and gilding. All these skills must be combined with a sense of innovation and creativity, as well as an indispensable in-depth knowledge of art history. As part of such a team, professional ethics, a keen sense of discretion and good communication skills are essential.

Novetus is offering to create and manage such teams making it subsequently possible for a public institution or a private client to entirely entrust a project to the Foundation.

Novetus aims to promote and preserve a wide variety of crafts. The Foundation aims to maintain excellency in crafts but mostly, we will work on the transmission and preservation of specific skills in Bulgaria and the Balkan region, such as embroidery, tailoring, ceramics, carpet manufacturing, woodcarving, etc.

RESEARCH
For the better conservation and preservation of historical interiors and buildings, Novetus’ team can count on the knowledge and professionalism of restorers. INCORPORATION
In the process of restoring historical buildings, some situations require the reconstitution of missing elements. While they are technically modern realisations, their aesthetic finest integration is our focus.
